Arrival at the airport in Trelew. Here you will pick up your rental car. Drive your way to Puerto
Madryn. Depending on the time of the year and the hour of your arrival you can use this day to
visit the Doradillo beach in order to see the Southern Right Whales from the shore. In this area
the whales get very near to land, so you will have the opportunity to take a good look at these
incredible animals. Accommodation in Puerto Madryn.
After breakfast you will drive to Peninsula Valdes in order to discover the amazing fauna that
lives in this Natural Reserve declared a Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO. We recommend to
do a first stop in Puerto Piramides. From here you will be able to do a whale watching
navigation from June to November.
After this, you will continue driving north in order to reach Punta Norte, the northern area of
the Peninsula. Here you will be able to watch Sea Lions and Elephant Seals and, if you are lucky,
Orcas during the months of March and April.
Another recommended stop during your visit to Peninsula Valdes is Estancia San Lorenzo. This
Patagonian ranch has one of the biggest Magellanic Penguin colonies in the region. You can
visit the Penguin Colony getting very near this friendly birds. Here you will also be able to lunch
and taste a delicious Patagonian lamb.
After a fulfilling day full of wildlife experiences drive back to your hotel in Puerto Madryn.

Today you’ll have some hours of driving. It takes around 6 hours to reach Comodoro Rivadavia from Puerto Madryn. Once you arrive, check in at your hotel. You can relax a bit before taking dinner. Overnight in Comodoro Rivadavia.
Set out early in the morning for Darwin Camp in Puerto Deseado. The drive will span approximately four hours. Upon arrival, you’ll proceed with the check-in process at the camp, followed by a comprehensive briefing on the camp’s facilities and the array of activities awaiting you during your stay.
The allure of these lands and their breathtaking landscapes captivated Charles Darwin in 1833, prompting him to select this very spot for his campsite. Here, he meticulously documented the richness of nature through his sketches, laying the groundwork for his groundbreaking theory of evolution.
Overnight in Campamento Darwin.
We suggest a three-night stay at Campamento Darwin to fully immerse yourself in the splendor of this remarkable and secluded destination in Patagonia.
Within the camp’s offerings, you’ll find different activities to engage in, including guided navigation tours to Penguin Island, canoeing adventures, explorations of ancient cave paintings, birdwatching excursions, treks, and leisurely horseback rides.
Your accommodation at Campamento Darwin includes full board, ensuring that you can relax and indulge in the experience without worrying about meals.
This day you will head back north towards Bahia Bustamante. The drive will take around 7 hours. Once you arrive, check in at this beautiful lodge that was cataloged by the New York Times as Argentina’s alternative to the Galapagos Islands.
Bahia Bustamante stands as a coastal sanctuary enveloped by 360 degrees of unspoiled nature, nestled within the pristine landscapes of Patagonia. Renowned for its remarkable biological diversity, this region boasts an abundance of seabirds and marine mammals rarely found elsewhere, earning it prestigious designations such as inclusion in the ‘Patagonia Austral’ National Park and ‘Blue Patagonia’ UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, as well as recognition as an Important Bird and Biodiversity Area (IBAs).
From its idyllic shores kissed by crystalline waters to the striking contrast of red rock formations against vast desert vistas, Bahia Bustamante is a heaven both terrestrial and marine, teeming with a myriad of avian and mammalian life. Exploration opportunities abound, with activities tailored day by day to accommodate tides and weather patterns.
Guests of the lodge can embark on a diverse array of adventures, including navigational expeditions along Malaspina Cove to observe colonies of sea lions and seabirds, 4×4 excursions to the petrified forests, canyon treks, bike rides, and leisurely horseback rides, among other captivating experiences.
After breakfast head back to Comodoro Rivadavia’s airport. The drive takes around 3 hours. Once you arrive at the airport you will deliver your rental car before taking a flight back to Bueno Aires. You can also choose to take a flight to other Patagonian destination such as El Calafate or Ushuaia in case you want to extend your adventure!
