La Lorenza Iguazu: Wildlife and Nature
La Lorenza is a rainforest reserve located only 40 km away from Iguazú in Misiones (around 45 min by car). They focus on the preservation of the Atlantic rain forest of north-eastern Argentina and all their activities aim to achieve this goal. It’s a family house in the middle of the jungle, and in most of the cases, the people that host the visitors are the owners.

La Lorenza offers a variety of activities for tourists to enjoy the wildlife and flora of the jungle. They have different types of excursions, either in the morning or the afternoon, according with the visitors preferences. Whether they want to hike along the paths surrounded by vegetation, take photographs of the rainforest and its wildlife, going kayaking along the river Parana or look at different types of wild birds, like the golden-crested woodpecker, the robust woodpecker, band-tailed manakins, while walking through the jungle. One of the attractions to visit in La Lorenza is the Yasy Waterfall, the local gem. You’ll enter the Parana River by boat and once you arrive there, you can enjoy a swim in its waters or even a massage in the waters of the waterfall. It is the ideal place to enjoy a snack while watching these beautiful landscapes.

The House of Emilio White
Emilio White is a naturalist, photographer and ornithological guide. He has published 3 books, including the official book of Iguazú National Park, and is member of Proyecto Yaguareté, a group of scientists and professionals with more than 15 years dedicated to jaguar research and conservation in northern Argentina. Furthermore, he worked for the English television signal BBC as a field assistant for several documentary series on nature.
He currently lives in La Lorenza Iguazu and sometimes guides some of the wildlife excursions that they offer. One of them is the jaguar talk tour, which he is an expert on the subject. He’ll share information about the role of the jaguar in the region, its ancient presence throughout Argentina from the north to Patagonia, current conservation programs, and more.
