Ushuaia: Snow & Ski

After breakfast, pick up from the lodge. We will start our day with a visit to the National Park.

We depart in our 4×4 vehicles towards Tierra del Fuego National Park. Stop over at the “End of the World” train station and optional ride on the train.

We know the best places of the Park from where you can appreciate the most stunning views. We will visit Lago Roca and the famous Lapataia bay, among other places.

Transfer back to the city, and free time for lunch.

In the afternoon, we will start our boat tour on the Beagle Channel, visiting the light house, sea lion isl-and, bird island and hiking on Bridges Island:

We leave the local port with a small group of pas-sengers in the direction of Alice Island to see the co-lony of sea lions; we continue to the Birds Island, in-habited by the king and imperial cormorants. Nearby, we enjoy the view of the Rock Cormorants on the cliffs.

Then, we navigate towards the Sea Lions Island to see them as well as fur seals. Finally, we visit the Les Eclaireurs lighthouse, which was built in 1919. It is the real symbol of the city.

Going back, we disembark on Bridges Island for a short trekking. During the walk, we discover flora and fauna. On this island we can see archeological rests of the Yamanas, the aborigines, who lived here many years ago. Along the trip we share a snack, which includes tea, warm chocolate, coffee, biscuits and, of course, the typical Argentinean Mate.

We offer an exclusive and super full ride. We start our tour in the morning towards the northern part of the Island, along the famous Route “3”, part of the Panamerican Highway.

We stop at different viewpoints, among them a typical winter center where you can enjoy, optionally, the main activities proposed: dog sledding, snowcat circuits and more.

Afterwards, the real adventure begins, heading to-wards Escondido Lake where we will explore the icy forests on a Land Rover Defender 4×4 on the ice.

After this unforgettable experience, we will begin the expedition – wearing snowshoes- to our cozy shelter, along old “hacheros” paths. There, we will share a hearty lunch with chopped salami and cheese, typical Argentine barbecue, “choripán”, beef, salad and dessert.

After lunch, we will visit the coast of the majestic Lake Fagnano, and then we head back to town.

Recommended to bring water, trekking or snow shoes, rain coat and sunglasses

This tour may suffer variations for climatic reasons.

We will take advance of these three days to enjoy skiing in one of the best Hills in Argentina: Cerro Castor.

This mountain has lifts for all ski levels, 7 restaurants to enjoy a meal and the landscape of Tierra del Fuego from various spots, but, above all, it still has its one-of-a-kind snow quality.

After breakfast, at an agreed-upon time, transfer to the airport.
