The most romantic hotels in Buenos Aires
The “Paris of Latin America” is an awesome place to start a honeymoon in Argentina. Furthermore, it’s a great city to discover even if you come with other purposes. Its multiple faces can match a wide spectrum of travel styles. In this post, we’ll see some of the most romantic hotels in Buenos Aires. The “romantic” tag is not an “excluding feature”, which means that many of these places are also suitable for travelers that come with friends or family.
1). Classics
Classic, traditional luxury hotels, which reflect the reminiscences of the glorious “Belle époque” in Argentina.
Park Hyatt (Palacio Duhau)
This luxurious 5* hotel is one of the landmarks of Buenos Aires, and it reminds the glorious 30’s of the “Paris of Latin America”. The glitzy building surprises with 165 exquisite guestrooms, 3 haute-cuisine restaurants, and sophisticated facilities. Here, the concept for luxury is connected to a classic style, reflected both in the new wing and the iconic Palace Duhau (neoclassic architecture). The hotel is located in the neighborhood of Recoleta. It counts with 3 haute-cuisine
Alvear Palace
Same as the Park Hyatt, this hotel is another landmark of Buenos Aires. Furthermore, it‘s one of the most traditional hotels in Argentina, with a „Clarence House chic“ style full of elegant details. Gastronomy is one of its strengths, with a fabulous breakfast buffet, a modern restaurant (La Bourgogne), and a rooftop with a perfect view. It has 192 rooms decorated with French style and great facilities. This hotel is also located in Recoleta.
Alvear Icon
This modern hotel is located in Puerto Madero, one of the most developed districts of Buenos Aires. It’s a 32-floor building with exceptional panoramic views of the city and the Rio de La Plata river. The concept here is innovative, with spacious and bright spaces. One of the main highlights is “Kayla”, a fine cuisine restaurant located on the 31st floor, with a perfect view. The rooftop Crystal Bar and the deluxe glatt kosher restaurant (Glitter), are also popular in this place.
Four Seasons
This fancy hotel is located in Recoleta. It follows some of the concepts of Alvear Palace and Park Hyatt, with a french style and rooms prepared to attend “royalty”. It has probably the grandest swimming pool in the city.
Hotel Faena
This former storage mill was converted into an excentric, luxurious hotel. Located in fancy Puerto Madero, Faena rises as a hotel with a unique identity and an explosion of different expressions. You may find a room with a white unicorn on the wall, spaces with religious decorations, a „Cabaret“ where it takes place one of the most sensual tango shows in the city (Rojo Tango), and an endless list of interesting elements. This hotel honors the „never sleep“ Buenos Aires spirit. It has a beautiful swimming pool and inviting gastronomic propositions.
Other places which we could include in this category of “Buenos Aires Romantic Hotels”, are the Hotel Palladio, Intercontinental, Madero, Serena, and Loi Suites Recoleta.
2). Boutique
The following hotels are more intimate, with way fewer rooms, and a concept that honors good taste and design.
Algodón Mansion
This luxury boutique hotel is located in Recoleta. It’s an all-suite hotel built on an old French-Style building of 1912, which was carefully restored. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with an elegant design. The restaurant has delicious cuisine and a celebrated wine bar.
1828 Smart Hotel
This is a design hotel located in the trendy neighborhood of Palermo Soho. Its terrace and rooms are blessed with generous natural light and an exquisite design.
Mine hotel boutique
This intimate hotel is ideal for couples. Its rooms match with the bohemian style of Palermo Soho (where is located), and it counts with a garden with a pool where you can sit, take a cocktail, and relax.
Mio Buenos Aires
This is one of our favorite choices in Buenos Aires. Is the result of the combination between luxury, sophistication, and personalized service. It’s located in Recoleta and has different room categories with different features. For instance, some rooms have incredible in-room bathtubs, built out of hunks of wood of fallen trees.
Be Jardin Escondido by Coppola
This small hotel of 7 rooms, was the house of Francis Ford Coppola when he came to Buenos Aires to make his film “Tetro”. Francis fell in love with Buenos Aires and decided that his house would then be open to guests. The hotel is located in Palermo Soho, which is the perfect match for its artistic spirit. The building counts with lots of plants and a curious decoration.
Legado Mitico
This is a thematic, boutique hotel in Palermo Viejo. It counts with 11 rooms, each one decorated around different National icons. Some of these legendary characters are Jorge Luis Borges, Evita, Carlos Gardel, and Che Guevara. It also counts with a library with very interesting books about the history and culture of Argentina.
Home
This is a green oasis within the city. Home Hotel has won important awards, such as being part of the Conde Nast Traveller Gold List 2015, and the 2007 Best New Hotel Award by Wallpaper. Its green policies are not only reflected in its lush garden and design, but also in the conscious management that they have, which aims to make this world a better place to live.
There are other similar places that could be included in this category of the Buenos Aires romantic hotels, such as Fierro Hotel, Atempo Design Hotel, Vitrum Hotel Boutique, Patios de San Telmo, Palo Santo, Nuss, Casa Calma, Ilum Experience Home, CasaSur Recoleta, Boutique Mansion Vitraux, and Vain.
3). Nature & outskirts of Buenos Aires
These are alternatives in the outskirts of Buenos Aires, such as San Antonio de Areco, Tigre, and San Isidro.
La Bamba de Areco
This is an old Estancia (Ranch) located in San Antonio de Areco (120 km), a village that follows the gaucho’s footprint in a fabulous way. The rooms, patios, and general architecture, reflect the art of colonial luxury. The Estancia counts with a beautiful green area and has recently become a Virtuoso Member and Relais & Chateaux.
Hotel del Casco
This old family home is in San Isidro, one of the most exclusive neighborhoods of the suburbs of Buenos Aires. It was built in 1892 and has a palatial style, which has kept over the years. An ideal place to relax and enjoy impeccable service.
Villa Maria
Estancia Villa María is one of the most distinguished county hotels in Argentina, and definitively part of the best Buenos Aires romantic hotels. It has 11 suites and an outstanding park, where sometimes people play Polo. It’s located near the international airport, which makes it ideal in matter of logistics. Michael Bublé chose this place to get married to the Argentinian actress Luisana Lopilato.
Other alternatives for the outskirts of Buenos Aires, could be the Delta Eco Hotel (Tigre Delta), El Ombu (San Antonio de Areco), Sofitel Reserva Cardales, etc..
