18 best rooftops of Buenos Aires
The city that never sleeps has now adopted a new world tendency: rooftop bars. Inspired by different icons around the globe, Buenos Aires has learned to adapt this in a fantastic way. Its eclectic architecture gives you the chance to have a wine at the top of a “Belle Epoque” french, enjoy a cocktail in a modern hotel of Puerto Madero, or just chill out while you enjoy the views from above.
Different hotels, museums, cultural centers, bars, and other buildings, are opening their doors to live inspiring experiences at their rooftops. Some of the most remarkable ones (including restaurants as well) are:
1). Alvear Roof Bar
This is on top of one of the most luxurious hotels in Argentina: the Alvear Palace. The hotel has an elegant, classic style, with reminiscences of the glorious ’20s in Argentina (Belle Epoque). The Bar is on the 11th floor, on an open-air terrace with great views of Recoleta. It offers light dishes and signature drinks. Address: Alvear Av. 1891.
2). Trade Sky Bar
This is located in “Comega”, a high Art-deco building in the hear to downtown. The bar is on the 21st floor and offers a 360 stunning view of the city. Furthermore, the building has also other two levels where you can treat yourself while you watch out from the windows: the exclusive “Omakese” restaurant on the 20th floor and another restaurant on the 19th floor. 3). Cielo Sky Bar
This is a bar on the rooftop of the hotel Gran Brizzo, just 300 meters away from the Obelisk. Apart from enjoying drinks and tasty tapas, you might witness some action around the most iconic celebration point of Buenos Aires! Cerrito Av. 180.
4). Crystal Skybar
On the 32nd floor of the Alvear Icon Hotel, this rooftop bar rises as one of the bests in the city. It’s in the heart of Puerto Madero neighborhood, with very special panoramic views of the city and the Río de la Plata river. In addition, this hotel counts with a high-end restaurant (Kayla) located on the 31st floor, with big windows and delicate cuisine. Aimeé Paimé 1130.
5). Salón 1923
The highlight of this place is not only the fabulous views from the rooftop but also the building itself. This bar is on top of one of the landmarks of Buenos Aires: Palacio Barolo, a splendid architectural piece inspired on “La Divina Comedia” from Dante Alighieri. Mayo Av. 1370.
6). Selina
This is a great place to connect with locals, in the bohemian neighborhood of Palermo Soho. Good music, classic drinks, craft beer, and something to taste, within a relaxed atmosphere. Guatemala 4931.
7). Dome rooftop bar
On the 6th floor of the Tango de Mayo Hotel, right on the historical Mayo Avenue, you’ll find this stylish rooftop. The classic french buildings and the iconic Palacio Barolo, will be part of the inspiring landscape that accompanies your wine, beer, or cocktail. Mayo Av. 1396.
8). Maldini
On the edge of the non-touristic and beautiful neighborhood of Saavedra, Maldini enlights the top of the DOT Shopping Mall. Street food, good beer, and fun! Vedia 3600.
9). BAB (Boca a Boca) cervecería
Next to the famous Recoleta cemetery, this bar offers a charming terrace to sit and drink good beer. Junín 1763.
10). Buller
This is a brewery near Boca a Boca, in Junin 1747, where you can enjoy some good beer and a good moment with friends.
11). Hotel Madero
This fancy hotel in Puerto Mader opens its rooftop mainly to guests. However, some time is also open to other visitors. Address: Rosario Vera Peñaloza 360.
12). Pullitzer
Located on the 13th floor of the Pulitzer Hotel, with a modern design and a very special view during the sunset. Maipú 907.
13). Piso 15 Sky Br
Another bar at the Comega building! It’s on the 15th floor, with fancy wooden decks, good music, and different meals throughout the day.
14). Portal del Sur
This is part of a hostel, which makes it one of the best rooftops in Buenos Aires for meeting people. Furthermore, it includes lots of activities to socialize, such as table tennis and table pool. Yrigoyen 855.
15). Piso 9 CCK
This is a restaurant on the 9th floor of the cultural center Nestor Kirchner. The building has a beautiful design, and many times you can attend to great music performances in the main auditorium. The restaurant has great views of Puerto Madero. Sarmiento Av. 151.
16). Vuelta Abajo
Same as the Trade Sky Bar, this is located at the Comega Building in Corrientes Avenue. It counts with a haute cuisine restaurant, signature drinks, and a sophisticated design. It’s also famous for its collection of cigars, including Cuban and Dominican Habanos.
17). Bar las Terrazas
A small terrace on the 9th floor of the 725 Hotel (Roque Saenz Peña Av. 725), where some “porteños” usually gather to take a beer after work.
18). Rooftop bar Casasur hotel (Palermo)
This is in the hotel Casasur Palermo -Costa Rica 6032- right when the neighborhood of Palermo meets Colegiales.
